If you’re looking for a fun activity to entertain your little ones over the summer holidays, then look no further! This butterfly picture can be made by children of all ages. If they’re old enough to hold a paintbrush, then together you can make this adorable work of art!
You Will Need:
- Xcut Large Palm Punch - Pointed Butterfly
- ADORNit Watercolour Paint 24 Pack
- Artist Quality Canvas Board 12” x 12”
- 10 Brush Set Value Pack - Gold Taklon
- 100 Sheets of White Card 250 GSM
- Pinflair Triple Pack All-Stick Glue Set
First, decorate the canvas any way you like. Your child can paint it all one colour or paint a background picture for the butterflies. This part is entirely up to them, so have fun!
Next, paint all over the piece of thick paper or card in a splotchy design. The messier the better, so this is perfect for even the littlest child.
When the paint has dried, use the punch to cut butterfly shapes from the thick paper or card. Depending on the age of your child, you might want to do this part yourself.
Fold each butterfly shape in half along the length of the body.
Use the craft glue or a glue stick to attach the butterflies to the canvas. Fold the wings up gently so that they look like they are flapping.
Hang your child’s beautiful creation proudly on the wall!
