Papercraft

1-2 hours

Intermediate

You will need:

  • Deco Dreams ‘It’s Time To Celebrate’ topper set
  • Deco Dreams Mirri Patterns cardstock
  • Adorable Scoreboard
  • 6x6 card blank
  • A3 Ink Me! Cardstock
  • Gold Mirri
  • Gold gems
  • Black brad
  • Black permanent pen
  • Foam pads
  • Red tape
  • Tape

Drawer:

  1. Cut two pieces of cardstock to 19 x 19cm, one from gold Mirri and the other from the red cardstock from the topper set.

  2. Take the red piece and, using the Adorable Scoreboard, square up to the left hand edge on the lid side, and score at 2cm on each side.

  3. Repeat the above with the gold Mirri but on the base side.

  4. Trim 3mm from each side of the gold piece.

  5. Assemble the red piece by cutting flaps into the corners, as when making a box, and sticking together with some super sticky red tape.

  6. Using a pokey tool, pierce a hole into the front of the drawer and place the brad through the hole to create the handle.

  7. Assemble the gold piece in the same way as the red piece in step 5, except this time it needs to be inside out, and adhere inside the drawer to line it.

Box base:

  1. Cut a piece of Ink Me! cardstock to 36 x 15cm.

  2. Score the piece at 2cm on one of the long sides on the box base edge of the board.

  3. Fold along the score line and place that edge up against the base side, scoring next at 15cm.

  4. Fold along that score line and place that folded edge up against the base side once again, scoring at 2cm this time.

  5. Finally, fold along that edge and place up against the base edge of the board, scoring at 15cm.

  6. Assemble the base by securing it with the last 2cm tab.

  7. Before matting and layering, run a black pen along all the edges that are going to be visible.

  8. Cut two panels for the sides and one for the top of the base from the Mirri Patterns cardstock and stick into place.

Easel:

  1. Cut the 6x6 card blank down to 5¾ x 5¾ inches.

  2. Score the card front in half and fold inwards along the score line.

  3. Cover the inside with a piece of gold Mirri and mat into the centre of that, a slightly smaller piece of the red cardstock from the topper set.

  4. On the bottom section of the card front, repeat the above step.

  5. Add the topper to the above section, attaching by the bottom half only and add the decoupage layers with foam pads.

  6. Add the long sentiment on the bottom with foam pads to create the stopper for the easel.

  7. Finish with a small sentiment in the top right corner of the topper and some gold gems.

Assembly:

  1. Attach the bottom section of the easel to the top of the box base with some tape.

  2. Place the drawer inside the box base.

  3. Prop the easel up behind the stopper.
