You will need:

  • Free Printable Papers
  • Dovecraft 5x7 Card Blanks, A4 Silver Mirror Card
  • First Edition Tool Die Set, Pinking Edge Nesting Dies, Textured Card Stock
  • Simply Creative Gems

Instructions:

  1. Place your first Dovecraft 5x7 card blank, open and vertical, on your scoring mat. Measure 6.5cm in from the left and make a mark. From this mark, make a vertical score line down your card.

  2. On the opposite flap, measure 6.5 cm from the right and instead of scoring a line, cut that section off.

  3. You will then want to glue this card to the second Dovecraft 5x7 card blank. Have your second card open, vertically. Glue the right flap to the left hand side of the card. Once dry, place your card on your surface so that it is sitting in a landscape position.

  4. It’s time to decorate! Cut a 17.5 x 12.5cm piece of backing paper with the metallic design, and adhere this to the main section, at the front your card.

  5. Cut a 17.5cm x 6cm strip of the same design for the small section, at the front of your stepper card.

  6. From the First Edition Pinking Edge Nesting Dies, take the second largest die and die cut it onto the tartan design paper. Cut an 8cm x 8cm square from the pegboard paper and then glue this behind your die cut design so that you are left with a nice border. Use a few strips of foam tape and stick your finished shape to the main section of your card, toward the right hand side.

  7. Choose which tools you’d like to add to your design from the First Edition Tool die set and die cut them onto a A4 sheet of Dovecraft mirror card. Maxine has varied her design by die cutting a few of the tools onto black First Edition Textured Card Stock.

  8. Maxine had also added a few leftovers from the mirror card to the black card to add interest. Add your chosen tools to the peg board to make it appear as if they’re hanging.

  9. Add the screw driver to the left of your peg board and a few bolts, to the top left corner. Maxine has used 3D foam pads and layered a few of the screws to gain dimension in her design.

  10. Cut out the ‘Happy Father’s Day’ sentiment from the tag sheet and adhere it to the front of your stepper card, in the centre. Add a small, silver gem to each corner of your sentiment from the Simply Creative collection. Add the tool box to the left of your sentiment and an assortment of screws and bolts, on the right hand side.
