  • 4.5mm hook
  • DK yarn

POPPY

Start with magic ring or 4ch circle

Row1 = 12dc into ring, ss to join

Row2 = 1ch, 1dc into base of ch, 2dc into each dc st (24sts) ss to join

Row3 = 2ch, 1htr into base of ch, *1htr into next st, 2htr into next st* repeat from *to* to end of round, ss to join (36sts)

Row4 = 3ch, 1tr into base of ch, *1tr in each of next 2sts, 2tr in next st* repeat from *to* 4 times more, 1 dc in next st, ss in next st. Ch3, 1tr in base of ch, *1tr in each of next 3 sts, 2tr in next st* repeat from *to* three times more. 1tr into each of next 3 stitches, 1dc in next st, ss in last st, ss around post of htr in the row below. Fasten off. Sew in ends, attach button for centre.

LEAF (working around the ch)

16ch, 1dc in every st starting at 2nd ch from hook and making 3dc in last st.

Work 1dc in every st down other side of ch making 2dc in last st.

Working on other side, *1dc into next 3 sts, 1htr in next 2sts, 1tr in next 2 sts, 1dtr in next 2 sts, 1tr in next 2 sts, 1htr in next 2 sts, 1dc in next 3 sts* . Repeat from *to* down the other side.

Fasten off sew in ends. Attach to poppy and sew on brooch pin
